The Melbourne Visual Artists Society (www.facebook.com/melbournevisu…) is presenting its inaugural at show at The Prague venue at 911 High Street, Thornbury Vic.

Artists David Pereira, Matty Taylor, Matthew Charles and Christiana Aprozeanu team up to present a diverse show in their own individual styles but united under the one roof. Come along and be inspired by this amalgamation of talent, start an (affordable) art collection, mingle and chat with the artists, and come along for th
e music that is to follow at this well-known venue. Cosy-ness and hospitality guaranteed!

Fingerfood will be provided on the opening night, which kicks off at 6.00pm.

The show will run from the 6th of September 2012 until the 6th of October 2012.

any pastel-lers out there?

just wondering in your opinion, what's best to secure your pastel?
have heard that glass is best as it doesnt distort colours but protects the work, but how about when there is no glass panel? í have used fixative before, but it's hard to get a decent spray and it can leave blotches and streaks.

any tips and tricks? maybe there are products or methods i haven't heard about before - educate me please!? thanks!

if you're down Melbourne-way, THIS WEEK - the South Eastern Arts Festival is going to be run from 9am - 5pm from the 13th to the 15th of April (closes at 3pm on the Sunday). i've got 5 works in there and last year was a HUGE turnout, so do yourself a favour and come see some spectacular works and talent! at the Pavilion at St. Margaret's School Berwick. opening/presentation night is on THIS Thurs night the 12th from 7pm but you need to RSVP prior so pm me if you want to come then
